Below is a presentation given at Snow College on May 27, 2022 about the Black Hawk War and the Migration of the Timpanogos Band of Snake/Shoshone natives that once populated along the Wasatch Front. Many believe that the natives were part of the Ute Tribe, but recently I learned that at least those who fled north in the 1850s identify today with the Snake Shoshone. I really enjoyed learning more about the Native Americans who once dominated the land in Utah during my research for this publication, and I am fascinated by the activism in the latest generation of natives who wish to restore their customs and proclaim their histories.
